With decades of experience in the Fashion Industry, the time had come to develop a brand with meaning and purpose. I knew it had to be unique, exciting and original, focusing on repurposing. Having run a knitwear brand for the past 15 years, producing styles in the hundreds, I knew my next project had to be more me.

Then, "Gypset And The Rainbow" was born just like that. I chose a name which captures a sense of freedom and spirit. I lean towards bohemia, being unconventional and eccentric at times. I favour natural fibres, antique fabrics, old movies, and good food; I live a rich but simple existence in a small village in Derbyshire with my partner James, founder of Amano Knitwear and our son Toby.

I work with a small team of creatives I have met over the years, more cooperative trading skills and helping each other when needed. We are artists, designers, photographers and models. We are bon vivants who live and work around the globe whose livelihood and pleasure co-exist in an eclective style.

The designs have a wanderlust, carefree vibe. Gypset (gipsy - jet set) is about a level of taste that fuses high and low culture. A nomadic lifestyle with a touch of luxury captures the notion of wandering the globe while maintaining a glamorous edge.

We make small batches and one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. We look to the avant-garde of the 60s and 70s trailblazers of style and expression mixed with hand-crafted traditions. We are not fashion; we are timeless design inspired by the past, bringing it to the present.

Our Kantha Jackets are made with patience and care by skilled artisans, each hand-stitched in a small workshop in Jaipur. The slight imperfections are a representation of the craft involved. The brand's ethos focuses on repurposing, reinventing, and reimagining.

We source antique fabrics, some of which date back 40/50 years, favoured for their softness and wear. Selected for their design and characteristics, we piece together the cloth to make something unique and wonderful to become a part of a new heritage.
